On a previous thread, someone stated that plugging the power valve on the secondary side of a Holley 4150, and increasing the jet size to 84 was a good setup. Has anyone tried this on a street driven car? Any plug fouling?

That's how I set up all of our Holleys, and no problems here...fyi, I run a 6.5 pv in the front, and a plug in the rear...I think I'm actually at 82 on the rears on our Y-Nova, which has a little less compression than our Camaro...

Holley makes a plug that looks like a power valve that plugs the enrichment circuit, probably less than $5.

Actually, I think you are right about the plug heat range, with the R43's they foul, with R45's they don't. When it's just idling from box to the show it tends to build up, then a few runs down the 1320 and it's all 'clean'

Wait a minute M. You don't take that Deuce to church anymore? Come on! I bet when Benjamin gets it he will run it like Drew runs his Yenko!

Well, I switched over to a PV plug and rejetted (82s) my L78 this afternoon. Drove to a cruise tonite, and, on the way home, did some light to light testing against my friend in his 1969 350/350 vette. My car pulled extremely strong. Got home and pulled one plug, looked great. I'll probably wait a couple of weeks before completely endorsing this setup. Thnaks all for the info.

I've tried it, I got fouled plugs - but nothing some high rpm shifts couldn't cure. I'm not sure it really helped me any... but I like to experiment... (with the car, not like a demo-clinton

May partly depend on plug heat range as well...or, the difference could be a big block vs. a small block!
