Default Distributor Problem????

I just put a new Accel Distributor (HEI) and coil in the Yellow 66 Chevelle.......Now the Knee Knocker Tach reads about 1/4 the RPM"s it should.....Idles at 200 RPM and even when I really rev the motor it just barely go's over 1000 rpm..........Any input as to what's going on here...

Thanks
Ken

I don't know about Accel but MSD includes a gizmo that corrects this problem.I cannot remember what this piece was because I did'nt need it.I will try to locate it and report back.

Well.......I contacted Accel and they said to get the MSD Tach Correction wire as shown above.......It's not listed in MSD's Catalog so it was a pain to get.....I finally got one and put it in and then the Tach didn't work at all..........You would think that Accel would have this figured out by now and have their own fix available .....It's impossible to get thru on the Accel Tech line and talk to someone.....E-Mail is the only option...this is kind of like buying Repro parts and when they don't fit and you have a problem and you call.......they tell you that your the first one to have a problem with the parts......Yeah Right.....
