I need to get rid of the junk flex fan and I would prefer to put a correctly dated 772 fan/clutch assembly on. Looking for something in the Sep-Oct of 69 date range. Also looking for an 837 alternator with deep groove pulley in the same time frame and the water pump and crank deep groove pulleys. And anyone with a dual snorkel air cleaner for under $100 can contact me as well!

I also have a 1112000 distributor dated 9M14(great for the early LS6 guys) which I would like to trade for an earlier dated 1112000 around H, J or K.

Jeff, that sounds like it could be the original distributor for your car. The earliest your car could have been built is Jan. '70, so the distrib. you already have would be perfect. All LS-6 cars used the 437's.

My engine is dated T1030CKO so it's an Oct 69 motor in a January car. So I assume the distributor should be dated before the motor assembly date. So the 1112000 is an L78 only distributor?

Jeff, the misl. components for your engine can be dated either before or after the engine build date. (carb, alt, dist., etc)as they were installed on the engine much later in the process. I would hold on to that distrib. as it is a good date for your car. To my knowledge #2000 is L-78 only.

The Distributor was installed when the engine was assembled,so it's date should not procede the Tona date.
The #1112000 distributor was used in ALL 1970 CTY & CKO L-78 engined Camaro-Chevelle-Elco-Nova,both Auto. & Man. trans.,AND all 1970 L-34 CTW 402/350HP engines w/Auto. transmission in the same mentioned vehicles. There were roughly 37,513 vehicles/service engines built with this Distributor. I'm sure you could've ordered this distributor over the parts counter as well. |

I don't believe that you will find a 1970 L78 dual snorkel air cleaner for under $100 unless its the LT1 Z28 style. The L78 and LS6 types go for anywhere from $1500 for an unrestored one on up to $6000 for an NOS. There are people on this site that would buy 15 of them for a $100 dollars a pop.
