Default 6-71 in a small block Chevy

Hello everyone,

im new to the supercharger/blower ...just bought a 6-71 with two 4 holleys and would like to know what would be the best way to build my motor to run good not to dump a lot of money but not to go cheap were i go to pass a car and drop the bottom end..this car will only be used for the weekends no racing..but want it to respond right...ill i know so far is a cam with 112-114 duration..and 8-1 comp..do i need all forged? crank,rods,exc.? do you recommend that i redo heads with stainless parts for heat?..Thanks Chris

your going to laugh but Hot Rod years ago grabbed a greaser boneyard smog 4 bolt main motor slapped the blower on and wailed on it..it did fine, if your just cruising and getting on it once in awhile it should hold fine...grab a cheapo new target master motor from GM, trade cams and slap it on and run it this weekend.

forged pistons and crank would definately be recommended. really depends on how hard youre turning the blower, if you just want the blower look and whine and run conservative pulleys you could get away with a stock bottom end

<font color="blue">A good cooling system &amp; scavenging style exhaust.
A little more duration on the exhaust side cam lobes is good.
You can go with more compression &amp; less boost on the street, gives it a little more drivability without going into boost.
Blown street cars rarely hook so you don't stay in boost long enough to worry about it.
