I'm in need of a new battery for my '70 Z28 and want to buy the correct battery. Do I need a top post or a side post or does it really matter? Thanks.

The correct battery is the R79 side post. I believe this was the first year for the side post.

Thanks guys, does anyone have pictures of the battery and cables? Most of the engine conpartment pictures don't show the battery up close.

Speaking of batteries... where can I find a new screw to connect the battery cable to the battery?
The one I have on the '70 is badly stripped and needs replacing.

The different size pos. and neg was to keep people from getting the cables crossed, with the new side post batteries. Didn't take long to go the same size for both. This explains why the negitive end of my original cable was cut off and a univeral clamp on type was added. the first time the battery was changed they had to.
The negitive cable is a reproduction, but it's the exact cable and length and number as the original.
