My uncle just bought a 06 Vette convertible and would like to sell his 1968, 327, 2dr Impala Custom that he bought new in 67. I have no idea on current market prices for cars like this. I must tell you this car is a TRUE survivor. 40,000 miles, Zero rust, 95% original maroon paint in prefect condition. Original interior (perfect), fully numbers matching, original 327 and Powergilde. Chrome is all original and also mint. Has a new water pump, tires and battery. Always garaged. My question is what is something like this worth? $10,000? $20,000? $30,000? I really have no idea! Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thats one of those cars that's worth more to some than others... Its no musclecar, but still a neat cruiser that I'm sure someone would love to have, especially given the original/unmolested condition of it. bkhpah's dad has a very similar car stashed away and even though its always surrounded by Yenkos and Harrells, its still a very cool car because of the originality of it. I'd have to say ebay would be the best route to take to determine value and find an interested buyer.

Thanks for the input Joe! The car was 100% original paint until 2 years ago when he took the car out for a cruise and got swiped by some girl on the front fender. The whole fender had to be repainted. You'd never know though by just looking at it. It's a beautiful car.

Post some pictures of the car if you have any... Nothing comes close to an actual inspection of the car, but its alot easier to put a value on something if you at least have some decent photos of it.

Tommy,
The car is only minutes from me but unfortunately I am headed outstate tomorrow to look at an LS6 and wont be back till late Sunday night or I would try to help you out. I know a little about '68 Impalas. I agree with Bud on the price but maybe just a little more only because today $7-8K buys you very little even for a newer grocery getter. Rick
