That date of manufacture stamp 2 2 looks funky to me, never seen stamped numbers that big before on any AO wheel, but who knows.?

I purchased 3 unrestored original AO wheels from Budnate and the "2" on my wheels is a completely different font from the ones on ebay. The font on ebay looks kinda modern to me. I thought the same thing as JRSully.........

Correct me if I am wrong but I bought several NOS wheels back in the early 80's from Iten Chevrolet and they were painted completely black. I do not recall any other paint being applied and we had to trim them out.

That "2" looks the same as an AO set I have, that was manufactured in Canada.
They look typical to me.

Were AO's produced in both Canada and the US at the same time.?

I would say Yes.
My AO Canada set is dated January 12,1970.
My AO U.S.A. set is dated January 4,1970.

They look like nice wheels, and they certainly aren't something you see everyday, but I wouldn't get into a bidding frenzy over them just because they're still wearing original paint. The one looks noticably rusty where the center meets the hoop, and I'd bet in person they'd all need attention to be show worthy. The NOS deep centers are much tougher to find than the wheels IMO.

I'm also still looking for a nice pair of AOs dated 4-28 if anyone can help.
