Default COPO.com Website

I just saw that Ed Cunneen has removed all the COPO VINs from his site and posted that he is no longer documenting these cars. Here is the messege from his site.
James

Effective November 13, 2005 I will no longer be maintaining a registry of COPO's, or certify/ inspect vehicles.

I have spent over 30 years working on this project, and have had many enjoyable memories. However, I feel now it is time to spend more time enjoying my family.

Thank you all for your past patronage.

I don't blame him...too much liability involved today.

That is really a shame. Ed has contributed enormously to the hobby and especially the COPO cars. I hope he will reconsider at some point and perhaps add a disclaimer if needed for liability purposes.

I can only speculate as to why this has happened, but it is not a positive step for our coveted Super Cars/hobby.

I would guess a lawsuit, a rebody, a cert, and money. In the end its always about the buck..

What will happen to his database? Is it for sale? Will it go to the CRG for public access?
Ed was always nice to me, and I hope that he enjoys his family. It can get tirering being THE authority, and it's not hard to see why he stepped down.
Good luck, Ed

I think most of you are pretty smart guys. But there are a few who destroy it for others by running there own mouths. ENOUGH said this should tell you why he stopped.
