Muscle Cars
Seller of Many Mopars Hopes to Net $4.8 million
We witnessed a package deal of five Yenko cars being sold at the Mecum Auction in St. Charles, Illinois, a few weeks ago for $1.7 million to Steven Schultz, of Chicago, who told us they were the first muscle cars he ever bought.
Well, that is chump change in contrast to the asking price for a package of 15 Mopars in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.Yup, 15 of them built from 1957 to 1971, including a 1965 Satellite convertible with 44,000 actual miles and a 426 street Wedge and four-speed. Other muscle includes a Superbird with 821 miles on the 440 Six-Barrel engine, a 1970 Hemi ’Cuda, a1970 AAR ’Cuda and a1970 Dodge Challenger R/T convertible with a 383 and four-speed.
The seller, Tom, also has two FM3 Pink cars for sale, one a 1970 AAR ’Cuda and the other a 1970 Challenger T/A. The seller claims: "These vehicles are the finest examples and the rarest of rare known to exist as a group. Original papers and in excess of 250 trophies to verify the excellence and detail..."
They will be listed in Hemmings Motor News for sale at $4.8 million... and that price is firm.- By George Mattar
