I was on Team Camaro earlier today and saw an L78 SS for sale. I think it had been discussed here before and I was wondering why it hadn't sold? Is this car something other than what he is advertising? Is he asking too much for the car?

I am not sure why it didn't sell or doesn't sell. The car has a few things wrong with it including wrong color but with only 600 units made it does make it rare.
Potential buyers might be looking at the cost of making the car correct as a buying factor. Might be other issues as well. Who knows. Rick H. |

Here is an E-Mail I got from the owner..
<<<I have called 2 interested parties and both calls were close to an hour each. Needless to say I will ask those who are interested to call me. See bottom of letter for number. Here is some more info and part #s on the Camaro. I know that not all the parts and codes are not correct. Please understand that this car was redone about 15 years ago and the previous owner didn’t care about numbers but wanted a streetable car to drive. Some panels were replaced and the car painted black. I was told that both the quarters as well as left door skin were replaced. I think that also the rear valance was. The floor is still original and the red oxide primer is visible. I purchased it 2 years ago with the intention of driving it then and restoring it later. I enjoy driving it and would love to restore it to its original condition but unfortunately due to my employment and home life, I am not in the position to do so. It’s difficult finding time to drive it let alone restore it. I put less than 200 miles on it this year. I have found some correct parts like the hubcaps, distributor, interior etc. I would hope to see someone restore this car as it was when new. If I do not sell it my plan is to park it for 2 years until my work load subsides, remove the original engine, buy another big block and enjoy it as a driver which I will enjoy more knowing that the original motor is safe on a stand. Remember that this is a Canadian documented car. Some say that the GM Canada docs are better that a build sheet or POP. With the way 70-73 Z28s prices are going I believe that these L78 cars will increase as well. Is this Johns car,The Black L78 in Canada? [/ QUOTE ] Mark, Yes it is. After the ebay "buy it now" fiasco, I decided to drive it for the summer and I managed to rack up another 200 miles on it. With my work and homelife, I honestly do not have the time for it. In fact I am writing this from a hotel in Nagoya Japan, where I have spent way too much time recently. I pulled the Team Camaro ad after finding out I would be sent over here again. ![]()

Nagoya Japan, Better you then me. Soooo, What are the Japanese woman like *LOL*
![]() I think the whole problem was the trim tag and if in fact this was a real SS L78. You proved that the car is a Real SS L78 with the original engine. I was actually thinking about buying this car from you. But I don’t have a place to keep it. If you still have it in the spring maybe we can work something out. I can not believe you still own this car.
