Default Recap, SCR8

WOW, what an event!! Once again everyone pitched in to make SCR8 a most unforgettable event. From parking cars, to tech, to selling t-shirts, supplying name tags, beverage and food, whatever you did, THANKS.

Thanks to Dennis Gage and Ben from My Classic Car TV for hanging out with us on Thursday and Friday. As he looked at all of the rare muscle parked in the pits Friday morning, Dennis told me he was glad I twisted his arm to get him to SCR8. At the end, not for sure if Dennis could not get the wording just right, or if he just liked sitting in the funnycar and firing the it.

Was good to see Steve Statham from Musclecar Enthusiast magazine on hand. Got to spend some time with Steve Saturday evening, just talking musclecars. Anxious to see what photos from SCR8 pop up in future isuses of MCE, especially a certain Blue Nova.

Another man on a mission was Bob McClurg. After last year, I did not think he could out do himself, but I think he may have done so. He told me late Saturday evening he had already shot something like 8-10 cars for feature articles and had 3 more lined up for Sunday AM. Plus he told me he had at least 2 magazines that had already bought articles on the event as a whole.

Would like to say a special thanks to our sponsors who were a part of SCR8. Berger Chevrolet who handed out a bunch of their license plate frames, MK insurnace, who even pitched in to sale t-shirts, CDs, etc, D&R Classic Automotive, who arrived late, thus was unable to get too involved, but is going to play catch up by helping with the sYc hurricane relief effort, and of course the Super Car Workshop and Colin's Classic Automobiles, who bring to the SCR some of the baddest muscle ever built.

Because it take so many folks to make an event like SCR8 to be a success, I am sure I left someone out, and for doing so, I apoligize.

By the way, plans for SCR9 are already made. We have tentative leased both the track and Gateway Center for 2006. See you there.
