Hood Insulation

I don't remember for sure if my '70 Deuce is supposed to have insulation on the underside of the hood or not. I don't think that it should have it but I would like to hear from some folks who know for sure. Does anyone have a good answer on this item?

Alan I like you, bought mine new. It was sold out of Rapids chev in Cedar Rapids Ia.It did not have underhood insulation. I also never say never, as there are some exceptions to the rule ocassionally. Schonye

Thanks for refreshing my memory on this. I didn't think my car had the insulation so I am going to remove the insulation that the guys at the shop had installed there.

No original deuces found have had hood insulation.

I thought that I remembered that the hood was just plain underneath, kind of like everything else on our cars except for the power that makes all of them run fast.

I very much understand you quote about the car being a part of your youth, a part of your being. I can relate to that on a personal level. Owning a deuce now is cool, but owning one back then was something special. I bet you won way more races than you lost, and beat a lot of cars with way more cubes.
Mr Howie, I remember what happened 35 years ago just fine. Yesterday though, can be a problem.
