Found a 68 Firebird where the guy says
'68 Firebird, Trans AM 4 spd Hotrod 400, Org Paint, No Rust, Garaged,

I didnt know there was a TA in 68?? Also how much more for one that has the 400/335 HP engine. Is it worth taking a look at??

There were 4 400s in 1968:

400/330
400HO/335
400RA/335
400RAII/340

Mods, maybe this thread would be better in the "other makes" section?

Have Jim Matteson at PHS, Run the Vin. he should be able to give you the scoop on how the car was equipped from the factory. PHS's fees are very reasonable/if not an out right bargin
