Default 1970's Z/28 wheels and F60 Wide Oval tires

On Ebay I have a VERY nice set of Z/28 wheels and reproduction F60 Firestone wide oval tires. They have about 1000 miles on them. They were powder coated the correct color and NOS caps were added. Ready to bolt on. Will work on SS Chevelle. 950.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4534509787

Not to be critical of these wheels (a good buy for someone) but no powdercoat can duplicate the finish GM used in these Z28 wheels. It is extremely tough to do right, very time consuming and rarely do you see a car with redone wheels that are right. Color can be attained relatively easy, it's the very coarse (like 180 sandpaper) finish that is so difficult. Restoration suppliers sell some.........not even close to right. I just did a set, helped by a friend who hit on a formula a while back and passed it on to me. I got em dead on, but had a hassle for sure. The good news is my NOS spare is right on to them. If you are willing to go the effort, let me know. It can be done.

These wheels were meant to be driver wheels and the choice to powder coat was made for ease of cleaning and durability. m

Mark. I think your pricing is for these wheels and tires are EXTREMELY fair. The NOS center caps alone bring around $700, new tires are aournd that too. The wheels should bring about $300-$350 for nicely restored set with trim rings and lugs. Good Luck!

Wish I had a Camaro or Chevelle to put these on! Looks like a bargain to me. Get them now before the ebay buyers pump up the price.....
