Gotta move it out, bought another project (a 73 z-28). 2 owner 70 Monte Carlo. Great sat nite cruiser. Blue/Blue. All Original. Never had the engine "hot rodded". Bench seat. Just tuned it up and she runs perfect. I found the original owners manual and the PROTECTO PLATE in the glove box!
(wow, how many of those still hanging around!) When I was tuning it up/cleaning the engine bay, I also found a 70 retro magnetic "hidden" key holder, and yes, it had a set of working keys in it. Body: Nice body w newer paint job, good for a driver/weekend cruiser. Next to no rust (two small quarter sized spots on each fender, under chrome trim, fixed). Interior: All original interior, all in excellent shape. 1 4" rip on drivers side seat. Headliner near perfect. Needs the vinyl top put back on, but I have all of the original chrome. Engine: 350/350 (300hp?, thats what the air cleaner said) Virgin. 77k miles. Still even has the factory stickers! Runs great. Heater core was disconnected when I bought it, I would assume that it leaks. AC is all there and hooked up. Air only blows cool. Very clean and complete engine compartment (still has the smog tube attached to the air cleaner). Hubcaps, but I have a set of rally's that I can throw in. All in all, a VERY original unmolested monte, that would make a great weekend cruiser, or with very little effort, a great original showcar. 3500.00 FIRM, sorry no trades. Thought I would list it here before ebay. Near New Orleans, LA Contact Rich for more details at: 504-913-3618 Will post some pics tomarrow (monday) evening www.nois.net/monte.html |

I've gotta ask this.
Would it by chance have a button in the turn signal stalk, similar to Cruise control, but actually RPO CD-3 Electro-Tip Windshield Wiper Delay? |

Nope. Just a regular turn signal. Were these 350's actually 300hp cars? With a 2 barrell? This is a clean low mile car. I just got a 73 z-28, so the monte's a goner!

Rich,
300hp 350 had a 4 barrel QJet, not a 2 barrel. Check the stamped code on the block to find out the true identity of the engine. I can tell you a thing or two about 73 Z28's if you have any questions.

The tag was kind of ratty on the cover. I'll have to look again later as well as check the engine codes. I bought the monte as a cruiser while I was restoring the gold 69 LM1, just something to play with in the mean time. Then I came across the 73Z, for a few dollars more. It is not a numbers matching car, but for the price I figured I can always get my money back. The auction number is: 4527239905
The interior is ugly, and it needs a few things, but overall not to bad. I know the rear spoiler is incorrect for 73, but I really like the short spoilers better than the large ones anyway. Rich |
