While on the subject of Yenko Vega's, can anyone tell me if "Wasp Blue" was a regular production color or was it a color unique to the Yenko cars only?
Thanks in advance, Tim "Hotrodchev" |

Not sure, But Yenko liked to tag the colors with his own name. In 1981 every Turbo Z had the wording Turbo Blue, Turbo red, etc. ..BKH

Hey Brian,
I was just curious, because I spotted a faded Wasp Blue '72 Vega parked next to a pole building outside Deadwood/Lead, South Dakota when I was out there for the "Cool Deadwood Nights" show last fall. I probably should've stopped and investigated it, but the wife was along and I didn't feel like hitch-hiking all the way back home. Tim "Hotrodchev" |

I believe the colors were factory, Yenko may have "renamed" them, as he did in 81 on the Turbo Z's, but I don't think the Vegas has any special "Yenko-only" paint colors... I could be wrong though... I still find it amazing so little info is available about these cars... No, they aren't 427's but I still think they are neat, and would love to know more about them!
