anyone know which 69 ZL1 Jim Hayter raced???

I think so. It ran AHRA with light wt front end parts including some home made RS parts
Ken "little Hoss" can maybe tell more about it

they were always changing the race cars somtimes they would change parts to run different class on the same day. In the second pic the ZL1 is running what looks like Grumpy's old 67 after he sold it.

The Ray Sullins car is the ZL1 #1 car. Herb Fox, Sullins and Harrell drove the car. Hayter put the R/S front end on to save the weight of the headlites and so forth, when he ran the car.

Going back to the third post with the picture of the car... Is that Fred Gibb- in the red shirt standing behind the car as it launches? That picture is also on a site with lots of old 70's race car photographs.
How common was it NOT to have a rear spoiler on the ZL1 cars when new?

Kim Thanks for the confirmation about Fred.
I think car #1 did not have a spoiler. For some cars money could be saved by not ordering the spoilers but the cost was not known until later on the ZL 1 cars... Who chose the options for the Gibb cars, was it the dealer or was it part of the COPO order with colors and transmissions being the only differences?
