Here we go having to read carefully! What is a "restoration and conversion"? I think he is trying to tell everyone that he modified it with L89 heads. Jim

Either way it is one nice looking car and would be fun to own. I would have liked to see it kept as Butternut Yellow though.

I think the seller has been very up front about this regarding his term "conversion". Appears the car started out as an eight cylinder car, probably not an original SS.
One of my best friends down in the Syracuse, NY area recently sold a very similar car he bought last summer and the previous owner did the same type of conversion. It was coded as a 6 cylinder Nova but the 396 was added as well as the Aluminum heads. Recent sale price was about $16K. I will admit this car I'm referring to had one of the nicest paint jobs you will see and the resto was top notch.

To our knowledge there were no L89 Novas, I'm not saying it was an impossibility, but..... I believe the 311 number refers to the '69 Camaros.

Jeff,
I don't think the person is trying to say it is a legit L89 car. I think it said that under the parts added section. I think it would make a nice car(maybe clone car). 40 would be Butternut yellow according to CBTN book. I wonder if that is the original milage. Sounds like an original L78 car. I've seen information in the Year One catalog that supposedly 311 L89 cars were produced but that is not known for sure. I don't know of any documented cars. I think Marlin knows a little more on this after speaking with Wayne at NNN. |
