Default RM Sothebys - '67 Yenko Camaro

Hi All,
Does anyone know owner history, originality, documentation of this Yenko?
Any known issues with hidden VIN, body/metal, tags, etc?

Thanks,
Dan

Sold for $330k 12 years ago. Was owned by a member here. Maybe he will chime in.

I owned the car in 2001-2002. I bought the car from Kevin Suydam who had the car impeccably restored by Dave Tinnell in Edmonton Kentucky. I believe that Kevin bought the car from Mick Price.

The first or second owner of the car, back in the 1970s, was a drag racer nicknamed "Coke Bottles" because of his thick glasses. His name is Gordon Vergeront, last known address c/o Three G Auto Sales in Madison WI. I spoke to "Coke Bottles" in 2001 and he said he had a photo of the car on his office wall, pulling a wheelie and sporting a full fiberglass front end.

I sold the car in early 2002 to Gary Holub, who added the Stinger hood. The car is very well sorted mechanically. Not the original drivetrain. Bulletproof and extensive documentation, viewable on the Sotheby's site.

I sent Gordo an email we'll see what happens.

I bought this car in I think 1997 in Green Bay Wisconsin. At that time it had a Doug Nash 5 speed and best of all it had an original 427 512 casting MQ engine out of a factory 427 chevelle. I kept the motor and trans and sold the car to Kevin and he had Dave Tinnel completely restore the car. Vince Emme, at that time had the protecto plate for the car but wouldn't give it up unless he did later on.

Should not have Yenko badges……Yenko crest emblem badges didn’t come out until early 1968……and those badges on it currently are 1970 version.

I remember seeing this car when Holub had it. Didn’t know Tinnel did the restoration until this post. Real nice 67. Built one week prior to my 4K. Cool 😎👍.

Ad says that it’s perhaps the best documented 67 Yenko Camaro. All that is posted is a window sticker that is iffy. Does it have a shop order or dealer invoice? Not questioning the car - I’d just like to have pics of other docs for the registry.
