Were spoilers optional? I'm thinking of 1973 in particular but I figure this may be an interesting question for all of the pre-bumper years (1970-73).

In 1972 and 1973, spoilers were optional, some form of spoiler was standard in 70-71

I had a 1973 a low option all original Z/28 with 1800 miles on it when I bought it in the early 80s. It had no spoilers, no gauges and no stripes.

Nope, stripes were optional as well on 73 sport coupe Z28s. 73 Type LT Z28s had no option for stripes and you could not get them from the factory.

Why was that? There was some trim as part of the Type LT that got in the way of the stripes?

Here is a correct example of a factory Type LT Z28 with the RS package. This is the car Rick G built years ago. |
