I believe this car was purchased from the original owner pretty recently...at a low price...and the subsequent owner cleaned it up for sale. Really tempting car, can't be too many of these out there in this condition.
Needs a big old Pedestal tach strapped to the column, and SW gauges under the dash. Link to 1966 Acadian Canso L79 ![]() ![]() |

I had the opportunity to check out this beauty recently. I picked up a Beaumont front end for Albert Galdi and the owner took me to see this car:-)
I bought some hub caps that Casey Marks bought from me instantly for his creations. I think the current owner is asking 88K CAD 71K USD. By memory he said it has been painted. The pictures with the original owner are available. Ryan

I had some long discussions with a previous owner of this car. It's believed the front fenders were replaced at some point, because there were no V/8 emblems on either side. These emblems are now on the car.
The car has been cleaned up for it's current sale. I guess they thought the alternator bracket was wrong, as it's been incorrectly changed out to the U.S. style. I've posted a pic below of the engine before cleanup showing the unique (and rare) Canadian alternator bracket that was used on some, but not all, 1966 Canadian L79 Chevy IIs and Acadians. Sad that people would just replace things on an original car with little or no knowledge of what they're doing. This is one of two Acadian L79 Sport Coupes known to still exist. The Sandalwood Tan Victoria B.C. car restored about 10 years ago by Bill Wertheim is the other. It's unfortunate that Acadians don't get the 'love' that equivalent Chevy IIs get. An L79 Nova Sport Coupe that is one of two in existence, fully documented, numbers matching and almost entirely original wouldn't be on eBay for 2 years! Bob

Going by memory.......I think only 28 1966 Canso L-79 sold new in Canada. Beautiful, desireable and rare.

Rare but not as desirable as a Chevy2 L79 in my opinion.

Do you think the population difference has any thing to do with desirability .
