Default Oil Pan Clearance

Hello, I have a friend who has a 69 Chevelle, that has a oil pan clearance problem, it is rubbing on the front of the frame (crossmember). the Chevelle had a 396 in it and was swapped out for a 454. I believe the engine stands and frame mounts are the same between small block and big block, am I correct?

Thanks for any help, Mike

Default Re: Oil Pan Clearance

The 396 and 454 are both big blocks. The same stands and mounts from the 396 should work on the 454. But many big blocks had different oil pans. Did he use the oil pan from the 396 ?
