Default March Field Air Museum...

Lynn, Holly and I were in SoCal this weekend to bury Lynn's mom, Norma...who had lived with us for the past 23+ years after Lynn's dad passed away in 1993 (she lived on her own for a bit). She passed away quickly after a brief illness and she was buried at Riverside National Cemetery alongside her husband (and Lynn's dad) Herbert. It's a truly humbling experience to be at a memorial service at a National Cemetary.

By the way, We'd like to thank Rick and Annie and Darren for their generosity and thoughtfulness as they both sent lovely flowers and plants for the service...Norma loved her plants!!!

While we were there-we decided to take Holly to the March Air Field Field Museum, so Holly could see what Lynn's dad (who was stationed there for almost 20 years) and my dad did to serve our country. If you are ever in the area, please take the time to go there...both the museum and the folks there are great.

Here are some cell phone pictures for your viewing pleasure.
An SR-71 is on display....one would have to have some pretty big cajones to fly something like this...that cockpit is so small!

Drones have been around a lot longer than people think! Guess who the girl in the photo is!!

This was in the men's bathroom. The reason I took the pic is that my dad was presented with almost this same picture...except his picture had all of the main "principles" (including my dad) standing in front of the plane. His was twice the size of this picture.

Bruce,

Great pix as always. I never knew they had a museum there. I'll have to check it out on my next visit to SoCal.

Sorry to hear about your family's loss.

Thanks Phil. I also have to thank Mark Sheppard (92646) and his daughter Maddie for taking quite a long drive to Lake Elsinore where we were staying...to meet up with us and spend the afternoon with us on Saturday. It was GREAT to see you again!!

Cool stuff...My Uncle built the SR-71 when he was with the Skunk Works program ...Saw some pretty neat Gov videos, after declassification. Wish I still had them!
