Beautiful car!
Which engine: 305 or 350? |

Chevrolet technically only used the 305 in Convertibles. I have however seen one factory VIN'ed with paperwork 350 Convertible.
I remember guys buying 350 IROCs and sending them direct to ASC for conversion. In '89 I bought a Formula Firebird 350ci Factory Convertible with the L98 and dual cats. Found out recently it was one of 10. |

As for a 5.7 IROC convertible, only a handful of 87's were built. Cool IROC.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen an '89 Formula Convertible, let alone a 350. I guess that's why.

I know that...should have been clearer in my meaning. What I meant to say was I remember when the 2nd gen cars were hardly on the radar screen and they really took off...especially the 70-72 solid lifter cars. And now the 3rd gen cars are coming into their own right as well...just goes to show you that if you wait long enough.......
