Default 1981 Turbo Corvette

Hey guys I'm starting restoration on a 1981 Turbo Corvette. It's unrestored with 43,600 original miles. Car was purchased from the original owners. I'm trying to find out some history on this car. It was purchased new at Mancuso Chevrolet in Illinois , from what we were told they did the turbo install. It has a L82, 4 speed Muncie transmission. It has all original glass, as the VIN is etched on every piece, including the t-tops. Anybody know anything about these cars?

Kinda just like Yenko Did on Camaros of the same vintage

Early 80's saw a resurgence in Turbo Charging. .
National Automotive publications ran dozens of issues with articles on how to* why to* when too and what to turbo charge....

Dealers of performance and profit minds built some up ...

Aftermarket companies sprung up all over...
Gale Banks.. Kenne-Belle.... Action, even Motion Performance was still doing it ....

Then GM. . . BUICK. INDIANAPOLIS....
GRAND NATIONAL... GNX. . GMC CYCLONE ..TYPHOON

Sorry, car is a numbers matching L81. It is not a L82, either way any and all help is appreciated. E-mailed Rick Mancuso, and lets see if I get a response. (Fingers crossed).

If it has a Muncie in it, then it's not the original transmission as it was supposed to take a Borg Warner Super T10.

Mancuso was a great Chicago HiPo dealer. They did replicas of the Greenwood Corvette in the 70's.

Just had it up on a hoist. It is a BW T10. Owners told us it was a Muncie. I don't think they realized what it actually was.

Now I got into it more. It has a Martin Turbo Systems kit on it. Turbo has a leak and I'm trying to find parts or another draw through turbo. Anyone have any parts for this thing?
