Default Dragway 42 Nostalgic Photos

Got this link from a friend of mine. Not sure if it is a repeat. Some very cool stuff here. Enjoy.

I don't know if it's a repeat either, but I enjoyed it even if it is. Can't get enough of those vintage drag racing pics. How about that late 40's Packard sedan....talk about different Thanks for posting, Phil!

----Saw Akron Arlens 65 in there with the "RC Industries" logo on the door. That's when Arlen was working for Russ Ciefert in the RC Speed Shop on rt. 42 just west of Medina. Russ owned a 65 Shelby so Im wondering weather the shot of the one here in front of the Goodyear racing truck was his. I used to pass that speed shop every night on the way home from work, and stopped in all the time. Bought a set of chrome reverse wheels from them for my 64 Chevelle (had to buy them two at a time). Arlen used to buy all kinds of stuff at my Dads hardware store in Medina. Great guy!......Bill S

Great pics, I've been looking forward to the return of Dragway 42. Although most everything I loved about the old track is gone, it's nice to see the rebirth of a local landmark. It's said, today it's almost impossible to open a new strip and remain profittable. I applaud the efforts of all involved, this place is going to be awesome! Can't wait to hear the thunder again at 42!!
