The first ad is from April 1962 and the second is October 1962. Gorries added the "dealer installed" 360 HP Corvette motor to the "new for 62" Chevy II.

----If done correctly this would have been a really great little bomber. You have to wonder about the rearend as well as the suspension, etc......Bill S

Can you imagine what this would be worth if found with fuel injected motor and documentation.

Maybe they built more than one of these.

![]() Pretty hot # for '62! Gerry Coffey gave his original Gorries & Golden Mile paperwork to Lance a few years before he passed away... Also, I expect not these Fuelie cars but believe Gorries ran/sponsored one or more of the early Novas in the Shell Oil sponsored Canada Rallys of the era...62-65? Ooh, Now that's tasty... and a Black/Red car to boot.
The Hot Rod Thomas "Bomb" article was March '62 with GM part numbers. Someone was spreading this "development" hardware availability info around. Paul |

This info/hardware in the article included HD suspension, brakes and "radius rods" added to rear suspension (similar to Corvette). Rear end would take Passenger/Corvette gears but, yes, would be the weak link. Front end would be better with those installed HD parts (springs, sway bar & brakes) but still the same Chevy II geometry. I think the White Thomas car did end up in a Canada road race and won. ...unless that was one of these. Have an article somewhere showing it racing there.
