In 1969 what manual shifters came in the yenko Nova's? I'm assuming when they dropped the 427 in they would have made an upgrade to the sifter as well.
I have seen some Yenkos, I don't know if they are true cars but they had the Hurt equipped emblem on the deck lid. Any info on this? |

I believe they retained the stock Muncie shifters in '69 Yenko Novas.

Agreed. I would also think the Muncies went in the trash after they bound up after the first power shift attempts. The last 50 deuces were finished by Hurst. That has sometimes led people to think that made them special/different. One deuce has a Hurst equipped emblem on the trunk lid. That was put on by the owner, not Yenko, or Hurst. I've not seen that emblem on a known 69 Yenko Nova. |

Thanks Guys I appreciate the Info:
Do a lot of the real Yenkos today have the original stock Muncie shifters still in them or where they upgraded? |

----Muncie shift handles have been reproduced that fit Hurst shifters. Several vendors sell them for different Chevy models. Only way you can tell there isn't a Muncie shifter in the car is to crawl underneath......Bill S

I don't have the Muncie shifter or a Hurst, but I do have the M22.
What would the experts do? Would they put in the Hurst Shifter or Go all the way back to the Muncie Shifter? I want to make sure that things are being done right. |

----If you ever intend to shift the car HARD get the correct Hurst and a Muncie stick. You can hurt expensive stuff trying to shift an all Muncie shifter with any heft! Usually an M22 can take care of itself, but engine stuff at RPM,,,,,not so much!......Bill S
