Did da' Grump ever run it himself or just own it?
If this amount's anywhere near reality, Grump's old beer fridge must be worth a coool figure now! ~ Pete

It has a real short ownership history, and is also a one off car since Diamond didnt build many like it. It was supposedly super light, and well under the required weight. People have known about the car over all the years, and always knew where it was and who was racing it. It was never damaged or wrecked, and aside from the hood scoop, and maybe the trans tunnel it has every original piece that was on or in the car from back in the day. It was so well built, that it would still certify for pro stock today, even with no major updates.
Jenkins never drove it,I believed he stated that he didnt like being confined in a funny car cage. If it were any other 80's era ex prostocker,it would probably fetch 25 to 40K by a racer looking to use it in super gas or comp elim. Since a peice of used toilet paper from Jenkins would probably fetch 6 figures, this car could be a $300-500K car when restored if the market were real good. Add the red paint back on it,the correct hood scoop and lettering, and build a period correct looking big block with a Lenco (anything that will make the car move under it's own power) and it will be a fine museum piece. |

there should be a chassis tag welded or riveted to the rollcage or frame with a build date and serial number, that may help document it.
