There were about 175 Yenko Deuces made with that motor...<span style="font-weight: bold">they were </span><span style="font-weight: bold">not SS cars</span>, but rather a COPO ordered vehicle specially built for Yenko Chevrolet. The L48 350/300 horse small block was the most powerful (and only) "small block motor" available in the 70 SS Nova.
There are some real Deuce experts here who can tell you the whole story... wilma

What's the VIN nbr? Original color, original selling dealer? Trans, and code off the rear end?
It wouldn't be the 1st deuce to loose it's stripes, and be cloned into a SS. |

That VIN is not on the Yenko list and the color is not correct for the Deuce...
As for the 010 block and 186 heads...these were the same casting numbers as the 300hp base L48 engine. The only difference was the LT-1 motors had 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves plus the screw in rocker studs (the double hump casting mark was the same)...the block was the 4 bolt version in either case... The only way to tell for sure what motor you have (original application) is by the deck stamp on the pass. side front of the block...that will tell the story. Lots of parts can be changed and moved around in 40 years...get some more info...post some pics. wilma

I believe that's the body nbr off the trim tag, and we do not have all the VIN nbrs, or inventory sheets.
Color probably excludes it unless it was a Canadian COPO, but I really doubt that. Air would be the nail in the coffin. |
