Default Fan Clutch R & R

Just received my fan clutch from Diane and Dan Kirkconnell after a two week turn time. Nice people and excellent work.

Amazing, looks way better than the NOS pieces that I have seen!!! Can you tell that it has been taken apart at all? I was getting ready to send one of my original Eaton fan clutches to Kirk, but was trying to figure out if you can tell that the front plate was removed and welded/ brazed back on.

The TIG welding is on the aluminum lip which is then machined down to the original profile in order to re-seal as original.
It is only the process to repair the original crimped down lip which is either broken or fractured when disassembling the units.

After Kirk is done, can you tell that this area has been re-welded or is the repair totally un-detectable?

Mark,

Thanks for the tip regarding Kirkconnell fan clutch rebuilding srevice. Just last week I was looking for places to send 2 fan clutches to be restored. Looks like I have found the best place.

Dave
