Hi All,
What is the part number for 1969 Camaro single piston front calipers for Super Sport applications? Looking for an explanation on how to decode the date too. Thanks, Dan

Dan:
I think 5473510. It takes up two lines like this: 5473 510 IIRC they use the same number left and right, but the machining is different so that the hose will attach at the top when installed left or right. I don't remember seeing a year casting code, only a day of the year. I could be wrong on this one. I may have an extra set sitting around somewhere that I can check. As a last resort, if no one has this info, I can remove a wheel on my car and check.

I have always known them to use the 633 caliper like Dan has pictured. I believe the date code is a simple Julian code so the one pictured would be the 303rd day. No year is provided.

The "303" number is the Julian casting date of that specific caliper.
The actual caliper assembly date is stamped on the underside of the caliper (see the photo below), next to the hole for the disc brake retainer pins. Hope this helps. ![]() |
