Not to be a smartass, but there are no REAL 62 bubbletop Impalas, just Bel Airs. '62 Impalas all had the formal roofline. So you're looking for a black on red, real deal 409 Bel Air?

According to a local 409 expert that car has a repro trim tag and repro 409 specific parts. At that price I expected it had to be a clone, especially when they mention the $220,000 sale of Floyd Garret's car at Mecum Kissimmee.

I do not know anything about this particular '62.

However, what I do know from my own personal experience as well a long standing business relationship is that the guys at Corvette Mike Midwest as well as Corvette Mike California are very good and honest people and do care about the integrity and validity of special cars.

No one knows everything about one specific model and certainly no one can know everything about all models of cars. These guys will always give you the best info they can.

My experience has not been that good. I have been at the california location a few times, no issues there. But in burridge IL, they told me it was best to leave when I pointed out the wrong core support in a 62 fuelie vette I was considering. Had all the marking of a non-fuelie car (mushroomed out screw holes around air intake portion of the support). Never been back.

I have a customer who was sold a "Survivor" quality 1965 roadster. After he purchased the car he brought in for wheels & tires. The frame was so badly rusted, we were afraid to put it on a lift. After the customer called them they said: "No Problem". We will just take it back, put it on the show room floor, and sell it to someone else ". Not refunding his $$$ just offering to resell it to someone else. This is Corvette Midwest in Burr Ridge. Being a knowledgable Benchmark guy, I said this is the making of a law suit. It is the Worst frame I have Ever seen on a car, let alone a Mid Year. When the customer told him what I said, he said that's the way ALL Survivor cars are. ?????? really? Not The caliber of the Mile Vietro I know. Total B.S.

How would a guy who doesn't know what he's talking about find a GOOD 409 car? Your gonna get eaten alive by the 348/409 crowd LOL
