This little beauty happened to follow Dennis and I home. Does anyone know the origin of the small block. I'm thinking it's a 1967 Corvette engine. Everything else appears to be original.

----It sort of appears to be a 1965 327/300 Corvette motor with the HF, but the serial # couldnt be Corvette as they didnt make that many 65s. No HF for Corvettes in 67. Was HF a good # for some other Chevy????......Bill S

Thanks Dan!
I am really getting into older stuff these days. Tomorrow Den and I are picking up a 1928 Auburn to detail for the Auburn Auction. Ed

What a nice find. It appears that it was originally a California car. I live one town over from Grass Valley (from the license plate frame). I don't recall a local Chevy dealership around here with that name, but it might have been when I was too young to remember with it being probably a mid to late '50's dealership? I was a Mopar man back then and do remember George Bros. Dodge; at the time it was operating it was the oldest continuously operating Dodge dealership in the U.S.

Mario,
A friend of mine's father brought the Nomad back from California about 17/18 years ago. It had always been a California car (there are California registrations back to 1967). He put it up in his barn and unfortunately passed away 10 years ago. I tried to research Mountain Chevrolet and came up empty as well. Ed

Pete,
Thanks for the info. That must be an old source given the 4 digit phone number. Another member sent me a pm with George's son's email address. Apparently, he also worked at the dealership. Very cool stuff! Ed
