Let me start by saying that I was dissapointed with the selection of good cars at the auction this year. Judging by what the muscle cars were selling for I understand why.
What's the deal with the COPO Camaros? The only 2 that were there sold for in the $100k range. Are there isues with the cars? Have the prices dropped that much in the last couple years? What are your thoughts? James

Which auction are you referring to? Unless you are there and inspect the cars, consider the time slot, review the paperwork, talk to the owners, research the info you get on the given car, consider any shenanigans that may occur during the auction, there is little chance of appreciating why a particular car sells for what it sells for. Kwhizz mentioned a few days back about a stunning 409 that he saw on the web. When he saw it in person, he realized it was a POS.
You have to be careful to look at auction results and consider trends unless you have the whole story on the car. R&S sold a white, auto, Hemi 'cuda convertible for $1.55 mil last night. Not sure that means that the E body glut is over. **** Oh - I see now in yr title you were referring to the Barrett Jackson auction*****

See the link below for the 2 cars I'm talking about. For some reason I can't link the cars directly so the lot numbers are 1262 and 1314.

I was wondering the same thng about that Green COPO that was on the block at around midnight east coast time. The guys from Speed didn't do it any justice and screwed up what COPO means. They said the car was a certified COPO but did not say from whom. I believe the hammer came down @ 110K. I guess there are some issues with that car.

I believe the RG COPO was bid up to $110k... then mysteriously backed-up to the last real bid of $107k with a quick hammer afterwards (IMHO).

I had the bid at $105k on the Rally Green Car then it went to $110k and they were trying to get me to bid $115k.. Kind of felt like I was bidding against myself so I laid off and then all of a sudden I was high bidder again at $105.. was excited and thought I might get it then Rick Hendrick bid $107k and got it. I dont think there was a conspiracy..just not enough bidders thats all wanted to go I figured after paying the juice and shipping it home it would have been to much to go anymore. There have been quite a few non-numbers COPO's sold for around 90k to $125 lately. The Rally Green car was quite a looker though I drooled over at Mecum last fall too.
