I have a couple of different sources with different info. What is the correct rear end casting # for a 1969 Chevelle rear end housing. A 939 or a 038?

That confirms the 038. Colvins book says it should be a 939, but its pretty vague in its info on rear casting #s and I have seen pics of 038 rears dated for 1969. I will go with that then.

The KQ rearend in our COPO car is also an 038, dated 0613B. I gather that the Colvin book has a few errors. This whole thing is a big learning process.
