Just realized this is an 07D car...that has to be one of the last 69 L78's made. Engine casting and assembly date are only a week apart...and it is an #854 block, too. I'd be interested to know the delivery date written on the POP...probably sometime in August. This car is very similar to our 70 Gold L78 TH400 car...built in early July 1970...all of the assembly dates are close to the cowl date. This may be a common thing for end of the model year cars when the factory was preparing to change over. Things may just have gone a little later in 1969...cool car. Do you know what kind of kickdown switch was on the carb..??

the nova came with this radiator









and a 9B dated 499 distributor

one of the heads was a 291 and the other an 840

seems like the line was using up the parts they had available at the end of production

Agreed, There was a 2 week switch over where I expect to see year specific non signature parts used on each.
