I seem to remember an article that was about the 70 Camaro VIN no.1...apparently was discovered at Smoky's shop and it was an LS-6 transplnt?? Does any one else remember this?? or am I losin' it again?? haha
Where is this car now?? I assumed it would show up in magazines when finished. I have not seen it restored... ![]() |

No, you're completely sane. Number 1 was a Norwood built six-cylinder car that went to Smokey Yunick to be tested with a GM-supplied LS6, M-22, rear disc brake and cowl plenum set-up and special suspension pieces for possibilities of running such a combo for FIA homologation. I don't have pics on computer but have seen articles on the car. I think the resto is complete but I stand to be corrected.

That fresh-air hood is pretty cool. Pun intended!
