Ok I bought a set of BB frame mounts and motor mounts for the 67 chevelle I am doing last year off e-bay. I questioned the seller when I tried to put the 2 together and the holes didn't line up. The seller said he sells a lot of them and the weight of the motor will help the holes line up. Well that is a bunch of BS because with the motor in place this is what I ended up with. I think I have the correct frame mounts but the wrong motor mount's. Did anyone ever run into this problem and what did you do to resolve it. Not really sure what I should do. Should I try another set of motor mount's.
Driver side ![]() Passenger side ![]() I did learn something tonight! A 396 with a turbo 400 and a mildon 7 quart oil pan will not go into a 67 chevellle together. I even have the complete front end off the car. THen I split the 2 apart and ran into the motor mount problem. ![]() ![]() Jason |

Jason;
I ran into the same exact problem with the repop frame mounts on my `67 SS. Do you have the pass. side frame mount slid down as low as it will go in the slots on the frame? I have mine in the lowest position and I still wound up having to install washers between the motor mounts & the block to get them to line up with the frame mounts. You could remove the frame mounts and slot both sides another 1/2" or so and that might be enough to get them to line up. BTW, a BB engine & trans will not go in together on an early A body even with a stock pan, they have to go in seperately. Eric |

Eric,
Thank's for replying I have the passenger side all the way down also. But why are the top 2 holes slotted and not the bottom hole. This may be my problem. My car was a small block car so are BB car's suposed to have all three holes slotted on the passenger side frame? Was your car an original BB car? Jason |

Mine is an original BB car, and all 3 holes on the pass. side of the frame were slotted.

ok, I ran into this problem before with a customers 67. I ended up taking a 6ft prybar with a tape covered end so as to not damage the paint and wedging it in between the frame and the engine bracket from the front and prying up while the engine sat on the mounts, worked perfect and the bolts slid right in...
