Default Dave Strickler, NHRA World Championship Z28

Here are some very special vintage photos of D. Strickler (Mr. 4-speed) and his Jenkins prepaired Z28 race car. All taken in 1968. This one taken at the NHRA Super Stock Nationals, 1968.

Enjoy,

Jerry

Mr. 4-Speed at the World Finals, Oct 1968. Notice Marv Ripes car in the background. He went on to create A-1 torque converters, a very successful company during the 1970s and '80s.

Strickler used an M22 with Hurst Comp Plus shifter. I have some photos of the trans and shifter in my collection. Can't post now as I'm in Iowa this week, 1 degree when I got off the plane!

Burrrrrrrrr,

Jerry

Dave Strickler and Ronnie Sox are regarded as the two best four speed drivers of the era. Both are in the Motorsports Hall of Fame........and deserve to be there.
