The "official" number of ZL2 hoods ordered in 69 is about 10,000. I often hear qualifiers like, "Well, when you subtract the 3675 Z11, the 200 or so Z10, and the 1000 or so COPO, that only leaves 5000 or so actually ordered."
I thought the ZL2 was included in the COPO and Z11/Z10 as part of the package, so the 10,000 would be for all all Z28 and non-pace car 69 Camaros. Can someone clarify? |

Looking at a copy of a Z10 window sticker it shows the mandatory ZL2 listed seperately even though it was part of the Z10 package.

Not true.
For Z10 and Z11 the ZL2 hood was required extra-cost equipment; not included with either option. On COPOs 9560 & 9561 ZL2 was included and does not appear on those cars' documentation. No idea if COPOs are included in the total ZL2 option tally.

Original part number for the 1969 Camaro Cowl Induction,(ZL-2),hood is #3949708.
Aside from a stamped production date,I've never noticed anyother numbers on them. |
