Dru, I do not know if they cleaned it up, but the years that I went to SCR I stayed at the Fairfield. My father and I went to a Police convention at the Gateway Center this past January, and like always, it was super clean and the service was excellent. I believe that Mike Guarise reserves a block of rooms at the Fairfield for the SCR which run about $89.00 per night. I plan on hopefully attending SCR this year and that is where I will once again stay.

besides that and with THAT Holiday Inn in mind, define "clean up".

You sure get fooled by the entry way in that place. It is sure first class until you get to your room. 3 years in a row I asked for a partial refund. Last year I gave up and stayed somewhere else nearby and got a jacuzzi for the same money.

I must be lucky, because I've stayed there every year since the Reunion moved to Collinsville and have never had a problem... Anyone complaining about the rooms must not be staying out in the parking lot late enough....

I can relate! I think I may have spent a total of six hours in the room three years ago (over a three night stay). Late night Thursday, then Hawaiian Jeff & I were cruising the parking lot again at 6:30 Friday morning.............. and we weren't the first ones there! We run on adrenaline during the SCR.

Not true. One year Chad and I were FORCED to stay in the parking lot most of the evening due to the water and humidity running down the walls and window in our room. Several people on our wing had the same problem due to a broken down air conditioner if I recall. The following year the mold smell was overpowering. Go figure..........
