Default BX code rear for 1969 Camaro

Would the BX code rear have been a COPO order for 1969? Was availability limited to certain RPOs (e.g. L78, Z28, etc)? I have a lead on a rear axle assembly with an early 69 assembly date.

Thanks for the help, Tony

My original 69 L78 Nova has it's original BW (4:56) rear still in it

I have shippers copies for a '69 Z/28 ordered with a 4.88:1 axle and a COPO ordered with 4.56:1. Both were COPO 9511.

On a similar note,Jerry B. in Ky. has a 1969 L-78/M-22 Chevelle that the original owner said he ordered the factory to install the 4:56:1 posi.
It was delivered with a 4:10:1,because the factory denied it,so the dealership intervened and installed it for him via the parts counter.

So Sully...if RPO's offered only up to and including 4.10 ratios and your car has it's original rear, it could only have been ordered new as a Copo 9511?.
COOL!.

I've never actually seen a 69 car with a BX or BW axle. I've seen paperwork for the cars, but not the axle in the car.
In 67 and 68, they are not uncommon.
