It was.
1969 and early 70 production used the bolt on retainers. Afterwards this clip on design was released. |

The clip on design....is a poor design. One good burnout and they are lost.

I think speed bumps and the like were their biggest enemy,but they were easy to replace.

MY CAPS ARE SNAP ON STYLE (CAR BUILT IN MAY) AND HAVE THE DEEP CENTERS. I THOUGHT DEEP CENTERS ARE ON ALL FACTORY ORIGINALS.

Your caps sound typical for that time frame and they were all 1/4" at the factory. 1/8" was released later on over the counter. |
