This Z-28 was recently for sale on ebay and didn't sell via the auction. I contacted the seller and we worked out a deal. I ran an NCRS report on the car and it came back as a Yenko. It's a little surprising that no previous owner elected to run a report on it but I'm not complaining! Charlie Lingenfelter had his red Yenko '67 Z on display at MCACN in 2017 and Bud Gates raced a red '67 Yenko Z-28 Stormer at Sebring. This is the third red '67 Z from Yenko. It is documented that Yenko ordered '67 Zs in three colors, Bolero Red, Ermine White, and Marina Blue and three of each color. I believe this car that I bought is the "Volpe, Pizzi, Rose" drag car that had Yenko sponsorship. I spoke to Ollie Volpe back in 2011 about the car (he confirmed he bought a red Yenko Z) as I wondered if Lingenfelter's car might be his but it turned out the history of that car was known back to new. Ollie told me that he scraped the dum-dum (sound deadener) off the inside of the door skins when preparing the car for SS/E. When I removed the door panel over the weekend I found it all scraped off like Ollie said. The doors and glass are all dated right for the car.

Congrats again Jon! I nearly ran the NCRS report on your car when it was on eBay because I had a feeling that it might have some cool history. Glad that you did!
