Default Alabama State Troopers Javelins

I saw alot of this a few years ago on a AMC website and it was recently in the Huntsville times and now on Hemmings. Neat stuff. There is one in Huntsville that is restored and he still has the light on top but has it painted gray due to laws against having a blue light. There is supposedly a lot of old trooper cars still sitting around..

Heres the article

Cool story Tommy, thanks for posting it!.
Obviously I have an interest in old Cop cars...more so unmarked units but they're all cool!.

Although successful as road-racing cars, my AMC product experience was more than enough to know Javelins wouldn't be a great choice for handling and pursuit use...scary thought really!.

You'd have to expect the service and performance records of these units in Police duty wouldn't have added up to a favourable outcome as repeated punishment would soon expose many other weak points of this era's AMC cars!.

Sounds like they really likes their AMC's. I'd love a 71 AMX Black with White strips, White interior. 401 4 speed please !

Reminds me of a good friends car back in the early 1980s. He had a 1971 (I think) AMX, 401/4 speed, white with gold stripe and Pierre Cardin interior. That car was beautiful and ran very well. The interior was straight out of the 70s.

Would be a little rough to get a prisoner in the back seat..

Give the perp the " wood shampoo" on the back of the head with a billyclub and he will jump into the back seat with the quickness! Then again there is always the trunk ...
