Default drive shaft stripe colors

can drive shaft applications be determined by original stripe colors, any reference sources? do drive shaft colors vary according to horse power uses, for instance is an L-78 drive shaft painted with a particular number of stripes and a particular combination of colors?

Default Re: drive shaft stripe colors

different lengths and different yokes got different color stripes... I do not know if there were drive shafts specifically for engine options, it went more by trans and differentials. I imagine that the driveshaft for any 69 Camaro big block 4 spd would be the same driveshaft... regardless of whether it was a L35 or L78.
