Couple quick 69 L-78 questions

1.) What color should the back impeller cover on the 065 water pump be? Natural, over sprayed orange, all orange??
2.) On the side of the 840's there is a hole for the temp sender on the left side head. The right side should be plugged. What should the plug look like? A hex, or a square hole that a socket extension would fit into? Or a square thing an open end wrench would grab?

Pump was painted on the engine... so what ever hit it.

...but what did the impeller cover look like before the water pump was bolted to the engine?

Also another question. There is also a plug in the 163 aluminum intake, on the left side. What should that look like?

The impeller cover was natural steel before the waterpump was bolted to the engine.
