With sadness, my condolences go out to NHRA Top Fuel driver, owner and genuine nice guy Doug Herbert on the tragic loss of his 2 teenage boys.
![]() As a competitor in the NHRA, may I offer a silent prayer to Doug & Sonnie Herbert and the entire Herbert Family on their loss. Having lost my 20-year old son and #1 crew member Michael to leukemia a couple years ago, the death of a child is a loss no parent should ever have to endue. ![]() GOD SPEED Jon and James. Rest In Peace. Jeff NHRA1060 SC/SG

My deepest sympathies go out to the Herbert family as well.
Having lost my son Shawn 4 years ago, I can say the emotional trauma of losing a child is worse than anyone can imagine. ![]() |

I heard this yesterday but did not see it in print. I was hoping it was a dream. What a shame. Doug Herbert is truly one of the nice guys in all of racing. Losing one child is unimaginable, two....God help them.
