Default 69' Biscayne L72, M22 shifter information needed?

Does anyone know what the correct shifter for a 69' Biscayne L72 M22 car would be? Hurst or Muncie? It has a Muncie in it currently, not original to the car however. I have included a picture.

Thanks

Zach

The original shifter is a Muncie and don't be too quick to determine the one now fitted is not correct for your car. The handle in your picture is a chevelle bench from what I can see but that does not mean the rest of your shifter is not correct fullsize. You have to look at the mounting bracket where it bolts to the cross member to see if the front bolt tab turns to the left or the right. See if you can post a picture of the shifter mounted under the car and we will try to help.

Here are some pictures of the car guys. It will be tomorrow before I can get under it and take pictures of the shifter. I posted on the site a while back looking for information on the car. It was raced it's whole life through the seventies in New York at Lancaster Dragway. Maroon origianly with Gold Leaf Bisquik down the sides. Motor was long gone in the seventies. Getting ready to do a frame off and builing the correct L72 for it right now. Still need a Feb- 1st week of April 3933163 intake and 4346 carb.

Thanks

Zach

The OEM shifter is a Muncie very similar to Chevelle. From your photo, the handle is correct for a bench seat. As has been mentioned, clear photos from under the car would be very helpful to ID the shifter.
